WIN Work skills Program

All BGIC students who score a 1 or above on their oral BEST test are exposed to computers and are taught to use the computer as a learning and communication tool. We have a networked computer lab consisting of 7 computers with a variety of programs including instructional tutorials, ESL software, and the complete WIN Work Keys interactive learning program. Each student is taught basic skills on an individual basis until they are comfortable and can safely operate the computer. Students receive an access card that gains entry to the lab anytime the BGIC is open after passing a short test on computer operation. After that, students are taught to use the various software offerings available until they are prepared to tackle WIN Work Keys.

WIN Work Keys is endorsed by the state of Kentucky and used in the KTCTS. Testing is available through ACT which is offered by KTCTS. High school students throughout Kentucky will soon be tested in the "BIG THREE" (Locating Information," "Reading for Information," and "Applied Mathematics."
